Aroostook Cup #4 - Karen Sprague Memorial
Sunday, February 12, 2012 - 12:00pm
Stockholm Community Center Stockholm Maine
04783
The fourth stop of the 2012 Aroostook Cup series. The Karen Sprague Memorial is a duathlon, meaning participants will ski a lap using classic equipment and then switch into skate equipment for the second lap. Duathlons are fun to watch and even more fun to participate in! If you are looking for a more low-key option, bring a partner and ski in the 1 km sweetheart relay prior to the start of the duathlon. Join us on the Snowy Mountain Trails at the Stockholm School for this great Valentine's Day weekend tradition.
Mixed Relay Classical Sprints
For Kids and Youth this is a two-loop relay with each child skiing one loop.
For Juniors, Adults, and Seniors it is a four-loop race for a two-person mixed team (one male, one female). Each team member skis one loop alternately and tags off to his/her partner: Female – Male – Female – Male. Teams with team members in different age groups will race in the category of the younger team member. Individuals may enter alone, and we will try to put you together with another individual to make a team. Awards will be given to the top two teams with both members in the same age division.
